Year 5 trip to Oak House

Last term, Year 5 went on a trip to Oak House to learn about rich and poor Tudors. As soon as we got there, we were given costumes and had to act in role as rich or poor Tudors. The poor Tudors had to make Jumbles (pastries to decorate the rich Tudors’ tables) and pomanders (a Tudor air fresher!), while the rich Tudors had to learn how to write with a quill and collect items from around the house to fill a wedding chest. We had a great time and learnt a lot about the Tudors too! (We are glad we don’t live in Tudor times though, as we wouldn’t like to wash our clothes in wee!).
