LUNT ROMAN FORT

On Monday 3rd July, Year 4 visited Lunt Roman Fort near Coventry. We had a fantastic guide who taught us all about Roman Forts and Soldiers. Inayah was dressed as a magnificent Roman Soldier and Arjun was, to our surprise, a scary Roman Soldier in battle.

Coronation Lunch

 On Friday 5th May, we celebrated the Coronation King Charles III with a special themed lunch. Luckily, the weather stayed fine, so we were able to celebrate outside.  

Science

In our Science lesson this week, 25th April, we investigated the effects of friction on different surfaces. We had 5 different surfaces to test. We discovered that the surface that created the most friction was The Bubble Wrasp and the surface that created the least friction was The Black Rubbish Bag.

Visit from Handsworth Fire Service

On Monday 3rd April, we were visited by Handsworth Fire Service. They taught us how to be safe in our homes if there was a fire. We were also lucky enough to have a look around the fire engine and have a go on the fire hose.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

On Friday 30th September, we all dressed in something green to celebrate the Macmillan Coffee Morning 2022. We were able to go into the hall and share a drink and a cake with the parents and friends of the school.

WORLD DIABETES DAY

On Monday 14th November, we celebrated World Diabetes Day. We all wore non-uniform with a blue colour scheme. Can you spot our Diabetes Warrior Princess in her awesome T-Shirt.

ANTI-BULLYING WEEK

Monday 14th November, also marked the start of         Anti-Bullying Week. The theme this year being "Reach Out". To start the week we wore Odd Socks.

JESUS: LIGHT OF THE WORLD AND BELOVED SON

In our RE Unit, we have been learning about Jesus being the Light of the World and God's Beloved Son. We candles that showed Jesus as the Light of the World.

St John The Evangelist, Perry Barr Trip

On Monday 26th September, Year 4, visited St John The Evangelist Church in Perry Barr. We learnt all about the Church and its beliefs. Thank you Mother Laura and Helen for showing us around the Church. 

Science-Rock Erosion Experiment

 In our Science lesson this week, 27th September, we planned, carried out and evaluated an experiment. We were looking at how rocks erode. We did this by rubbing 2 of the same types of rock for 2 minutes and we looked to see how much dust was produced. We had to make sure that it was a "fair test". 

Sisters Minor of St Francis

On Thursday 20th and Friday 21st October, Year 4 were visited by the Sisters Minor of St Francis. On Thursday they told us all about their vocation to become a Sister and on Friday, as a class, we all made our own Rosary Beads. We then shared and said a decade of The Rosary.

3D STONEHENGE

MARVELLOUS MAMMOTHS

We made our Mammoths this week, Tuesday 22nd November,  These were made using different textured brown papers and milk cartons. 

STONE AGE AXES

In our Design Technology lessons we continued to look at items from the Stone Age. This week we followed instructions in order to make a Stone Age Axe.
