Sports Results 2023 - 2024

 Year 4 and Year 5 Girls' Football

On 21st March, the Year 4 and Year 5 Girls’ 6-a-side football team competed in the finals of Aston Primary Schools’ tournament after qualifying on 14th March. Chiamaka, Lumaya, Louisa, Sophia, Shalom, Eva and Zuzanna gave a good account of themselves in the three matches that they played. The team drew 0-0 and lost 4-1 and 2-0.

In the final game, following two injuries, we had to call upon Amelia from amongst the supporters to join the team. A special well done to her for playing in her school uniform – tie and all! Thank you to Miss Gibbon for managing the team and to the parents who came to support the team.

Year 4 and Year 5 Girls' Football

on 15th March, the Year 4 and Year 5 Girls’ 6-a-side football team competed in the Aston Primary Schools’ tournament wearing the school’s new Girls’ football kit. The same squad gave a good account in the four matches that they played. The team won two matches, drew one match and lost one match and have successfully reached the girls final next Thursday. Thank you to Miss Gibbon for managing the team and organising the new kit and to the parents who came to support them.

Bench Ball

On the morning of Monday 18th March, ten of our Year 4 children participated in a Bench Ball festival at Dorrington Academy. The children; Adam, Layla, Phoenix, Mariam, Roshan, Khadija, An, Saif, Daya and Amelia, had an energetic and enjoyable morning. The group were a credit to the school. Thank you to Mrs Murdock for taking the children to this event.

Year 4 and Year 5 Girls' Football

On 14th March, the Girls’ Year 4 and Year 5 6-a-side Football team competed in the Caritas Christi In Urbe tournament, marking International Women’s Day, at St. Paul’s School for Girls. The team played three matches; drawing two and losing one. The team finished third overall. Well done to Chiamaka, Lumaya, Louisa, Sophia, Shalom, Eva and Zuzanna.

Year 5 Boys' Football 

On Thursday 7th March, the Year 5 Boys’ 6-a-side football team competed in the Aston Primary Schools’ tournament. The squad; Matthew, Harpreet, Hoger, Lewis, Mason, Rehan and Saran, gave a good account in the three matches that they played. The team drew 1-1, lost 1-0 and 4-0. Thank you to Miss Gibbon for managing the team and to the parents who came to support them.

Boccia

On Tuesday 27th February, our Year 5 and Year 6 Boccia team competed in the Caritas Christi In Urbe event at St. Clare’s Catholic Primary School. The team also played Curling. Well done to Eesa, Samar, Joseph, Kenyah, Elijah and Jaimar who were wonderful ambassadors for our school. Thank you to Miss Gibbon for taking these children to this event.

Cross Country Running

On 2nd February, our Cross Country running team of Kimi, Troy and Hashim (Year 3), Laura and Dominik (Year 4), Zuzanna and Hoger (Year 5), Chizi and Osagie (Year 6) were competing in the Caritas Christi In Urbe schools’ annual event at St Paul’s School for Girls. Osagie finished first in his race, Hoger came second in his race and Kimi finished third in her race. Well done to all the children who represented the school. St Teresa’s came third overall. Thank you to Miss Gibbon for taking the children to this event.

On 1st February, the Girls’ 5-a-side football team played in the Aston Primary Schools’ Spring Term Tournament, losing 1-0, 2-0 and drawing 0-0. Well done to Chizi, Mia, Kimran, Motunrayo and Hiba who gave it their all. Thank you to Miss Gibbon for her management of the team. Thank you to Mrs Allport and Mrs Gillam for providing transport. Thank you to the parents for their support and for bringing children back to school.

On 25th January, the Boys’ 5-a-side football team played in the Aston Primary Schools’ Spring Term Tournament, losing 4-0 and 9-0 and drawing 1-1. Matthew, Isharma, Lewis, Osagie and Essey gave their all and were well behaved representatives of our school. Thank you to Miss Gibbon for her management of the team. Thank you to Mrs Allport and Mrs Connell for providing transport.

On 23rd January, a group of children represented the school at a Caritas Christi In Urbe Boccia event at St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School. Well done to Nebyou, Henna, David, Tomek and Rowan. The team finished joint third at this event. Thank you to Miss Gibbon and Miss Aziz for taking the children to this event.

On 23rd November, the Girls’ 5-a-side football team played in the Aston Primary Schools’ Autumn Tournament, losing 5-0, 1-0, 6-1 and 4-2. It was the first time that the squad of Tannia, Kimran, Mia, Jaya, Motunrayo and Inayah had played together and they gave it their all. Thank you to Mrs Gillam and Miss Gibbon for their support.

On 16th November, the school’s Chess team competed in the Birmingham Catholic Schools’ Sports Association’s Chess tournament. Seven schools participated in this event. The school was well represented by Fariha, Pavneet, Aydin, Edward, Chanveer and Viktor. Thank you to Miss Goupilliere for taking the team to this event.

On 16th November, the Boys’ 5-a-side football team played in the Aston Primary Schools’ Autumn Tournament, losing 5-0 and 4-0 and drawing 2-2. Well done to Matthew, Osagie, Lewis, Harpreet, Mason and Muganzi. Thank you to Miss Bennett, Mrs Gillam and Miss Gibbon for their support.

On 27th October, the Boys’ 7-a-side football team played in  a match in the Aston Primary Schools’ Autumn League and a friendly match, drawing 0-0 and 1-1. Well done to Matthew, Isharma, Osagie, Lewis, Harpreet, Edward, Mason, Hoger, Muganzi and Elijah. Thank you to Mrs Murdock, Miss Gibbon, Miss Bennett, Mrs Gillam and the parents who came for their support.

On 19th October, the Boys’ 7-a-side football team played their first matches of the season competing in the Aston Primary Schools’ Autumn League. The Boys’ team played three matches, losing 6-0, 2-0 and 3-0. It was a good team effort by Matthew, Saran, Osagie, Lewis, Harpreet, Edward, Mason, Hoger and Aydin.
