SUMMER 1 SPELLINGS

ASSEMBLY SONG

Here is the song we are learning for class assembly. It's all Greek to me!

EXPLORING SOUND!

We began our new science topic of sound. We explored whether a full or empty glass makes a louder sound, the vibrations made on metal and by plucking elastic bands. We tried to hear our friend talk to us through a balloon, as well as seeing how vibrations work by banging a drum with rice on top it.

LENTEN ACROSTIC POEMS

As part of our work on Lent we explored that Christians try to change to be more like Jesus during Lent and used this to create Lenten Acrostic poems. We hope you like them.

FOUNDERS & THINKING DAY 22nd FEBRUARY

Viktor, Hashim, Logan and Sophia wore their Beavers and Brownie Uniforms to celebrate this day. Founders Day is to celebrate the birthday of Lord Robert Baden-Powell who founded the Boy Scout movement. Thinking Day is a chance for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts across the world to think about each other, the worldwide movement they’re part of, and important issues. Our Y3 Beavers and Brownie were fantastic in explaining to us what they do and how much they enjoy being a Beaver and Brownie.

MELTING CHOCOLATE

In our science work we have worked on the enquiry skill of observing through time. We observed the changes of heat on chocolate in our States of Matter topic. We had a lot of fun melting the chocolate with hot water but also in our hands!

ROWAN'S CELLO PLAYING

A huge well done to Rowan for developing his cello playing skills. Mr Smith his cello teacher is very impressed with the effort Rowan has put into learning to play the cello. Thank you Rowan for inviting Miss Aziz and Mrs Allport to watch you play. It was a real privilege.

PRAYER & LITURGY

Thank you to Florence and Ashay'a for planning and leading our class led prayer and Liturgy. We responded by making a paper chain of prayers and to think that God is always with us as we go forth.
