Skipping Day

On Wednesday 20th July , Miss Gibbon led our annual ‘Skipping Day’. The individual results were:

Caritas Christi In Urbe Commonwealth Games

On the morning of Tuesday 12th July, thirty-two children from the Junior classes went to St. Chad’s Catholic Primary School for the inaugural Caritas Christi In Urbe Commonwealth Games event. The eight schools involved were those named on the back of the yellow Caritas t-shirt that each child has received. Each of the competing schools has a different colour version of the same designed t-shirt. The children involved in the morning’s events were; Year 3 – Lewis, Eve, Zeeshaan, Inayah, Jaimar, Zuzanna, Hoger and Mayana, Year 4 – Isharma, Tannia, Essey, Hiba, Kaiden, Chizi, Osagie and Noor, Year 5 – Nihal, Amelia, Thiago, Remy, Joshua, Maria M, Arvin and Laura and Year 6 – Sebastian, Avani, Manpreet, Imani, Ki-mani, Tarli-Monae, Sukhjeevan and Tiana.

In the afternoon, twenty four children from the Infant classes were taken to St. Chad’s School whilst the Junior children involved were taken back to school. The children from the Infant classes involved in the events were; Reception – Chiamaka, Deborah, Chinedum, Laura, Ibrahim, Sameera, Jaiden and Kofi, Year 1 – Aaliyah, Troy, Jayden, A’zirah, Kimi, Hoang, Amal and Davani and Year 2 – Daya, Lumaya, Phoenix, Jayden, Dominik, Kimora, Chiamaka and Aaron. The children were a credit to the school with a number of children winning or being placed in their events. We await the overall results. Thank you to Miss Gibbon and Mrs Murdock for helping to supervise and manage the teams. Thank you to Mr Bryan for driving the minibus and to Mrs Jones for chaperoning the children on the minibus coming to and returning from the event over the lunchtime period. Thank you also to Maria M and Remy for staying and helping to look after the Infant children in the afternoon.

St. Teresa’s Catholic Primary School Junior Sports Day

Thank you to Miss Gibbon for calculating the overall results from the Junior classes’ Sports Day which took place on Tuesday 5th July. The results of this event are; 1st – St. Matthew – 262, 2nd – St. Luke  - 225, 3rd – St. John – 224, 4th – St. Mark – 213.

Caritas Christi In Urbe Swimming Gala

On 30th June, the Swimming team participated in the inaugural Caritas Christi In Urbe Swimming Gala at Harborne Swimming Pool. Four schools participated; St. Teresa’s, St. Clare’s, St. Edmund’s and St. Patrick’s. The team performed very well winning the event overall. Congratulations to Saron, Tiana, Avani, Ruth, Manpreet, Thiago, Joshua and Arvin.  Joshua won the Boys’ 25 m Front Crawl Final with Arvin finishing fourth, Tiana and Ruth were third and fourth respectively in the Girls’ 25 m Front Crawl Final. Avani was second in the Girls’ 25m Backstroke Final. The mixed relay team won the Freestyle Relay Final and the team won the water polo semi-final and final winning 5-0 in both games.

Year 3 and Year 4 Girls' Football 

On 25th May, the Year 3 and Year 4 Girls’ 6-a-side football team participated in the Aston Primary Schools’ tournament. The team played three matches in their group, winning 3-0, drawing 1-1 and losing 2-0. The team were second in their group and qualified for the semi-final. The team lost that match 4-1 but it was a wonderful effort by Mia, Jaya, Motunrayo, Kimran, Tannia, Chizi and Zuzanna. Thank you to Mrs Allport, Miss Gibbon and the parents for their support. Thank you also to Mrs Murdock, Tarjae and Arissa for coaching the team for the two weeks prior to the tournament.

Year 3 and Year 4 Boys' Football 

On 12th May, the Year 3 and Year 4 Boys’ 6-a-side football team played in the Aston Primary Schools’ tournament. The team played three matches; losing 3-0, 4-0 and 4-0. The team; Osagie, Edward, Muganzi, Isharma, Elijah, Saran, Talha and Lewis, gave it a good go against tough opposition. Thank you to Mrs Allport and Mrs Murdock for taking the children to this event and to the parents who supported the team.

Football Results

On 7th April, the Boys’ 9-a-side football team competed in the Aston Primary Schools’ George Waterfall Cup. The team lost their first round match to William Murdoch School 2-1 and won a friendly match against James Watt School 3-0. It was a good effort by Chikwere, Arvin, Tomasz, Sebastian, Sukhjeevan, Arjun, Manpreet, Thiago, Jayden and Nihal.

Boccia and Curling

On 5th April, a group of Year 3 children represented the school at a Caritas Christi In Urbe Boccia and Curling event at St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School. Well done to Kenyah, Mayana, Zuzanna, Thomas, Joseph, Mason and Elijah. The team won all three of the Boccia games and lost both of their Curling games. Thank you to Mrs Murdock for taking the children to this event. 

Representing Aston District Football Team

Well done to Amelia who was part of the Girls’ Aston District Football team that competed in the Birmingham final against Kings Norton on 25th March. The Aston team lost the match but it was quite an achievement for one of our girls to be part of the team that got to the final of this tournament.

On 10th March, the Boys’ Year 5 6-a-side football team competed in the Aston Primary Schools’ tournament. The team played three games; losing 1-0, 4-0 and 2-0. It was a good effort by Chikwere, Arvin, Eesah, Joshua, Thiago, Jayden, Nihal, Arinze and Long. Thank you to the parents who supported the team.

On 8th March, the Girls’ 5-a-side football team competed in the semi-final of the Aston Primary Schools’ tournament. The team lost 3-1. It was an achievement by Amelia, Ruth, Arissa, Remy, Tiana, Tarjae and Avani to reach this stage or the tournament. Thank you to Miss Gibbon for her support.

On 3rd March, the Girls’ 5-a-side football team competed in the Aston Primary Schools’ tournament. The team played four games; winning 4-2, 6-1, 4-0 and drawing 1-1. The girls won their league and have qualified for the semi-final of this tournament. Well done Ruth, Arissa, Remy, Tiana, Amelia, Tarjae and Avani.

On 15th February, the Boys’ 5-a-side football team competed in the Aston Primary Schools’ tournament. The team played four games; drawing 1-1 and losing 4-1, 4-1 and 2-1. The boys who played gave their all. Well done Chikwere, Arvin, Nihal, Sebastian, Sukhjeevan and Ki-mani. Thank you Miss Gibbon for supporting the team. Further tournaments are planned for next half term.

On 18th November, our Girls’ 5-a-side Football team competed in the Aston Primary Schools’ tournament. The team played four matches; winning 2-0 and 4-1 and losing 3-0 and 1-0. It was a great team effort by Tiana, Avani, Amelia, Tarjae, Arissa and Remy.

 

On 15th November, the Boys’ and Girls’ 5-aside football teams competed in the Birmingham Catholic Primary Schools’ tournaments. Both team played five matches in their respective leagues. The Boys’ team; Chikwere, Tomasz, Sebastian, Nihal, Manpreet and Sukhjeevan; won a match 2-1 and lost 1-0, 4-1, 1-0 and 3-0.

The Girls’ team; Ruth, Tiana, Avani, Amelia, Tarjae and Arissa, won two matches; 2-0 and 1-0, drew a match 1-1 and lost two matches; 2-1 and 2-0. Well done to both teams for representing the school so well. Thank you to Mrs Murdock and Mrs Connell for helping to get the children to the event. Thank you also to Mrs Murdock for managing the Girls’ team.

 

On 11th November, our Boys’ 5-a-side Football team had their first tournament of the season, in the Aston Primary Schools’ competition. The team played three matches; drawing 1-1, losing 2-0 and 1-0. It was a valiant effort by Chikwere, Tomasz, Manpreet, Sebastian, Sukhjeevan and Nihal.

On 2nd November, our Girls’ Football team had their first match of the season, in the Aston Primary Schools Girls’ 7-a-side League, against a very strong team from Beeches Junior School. By half time the score was 8-0 but the team kept battling and the final score was 11-0 to Beeches Junior School. Not one of our girls criticised each other or gave up. Mrs Murdock and Mr. Corkery were very proud of Avani, Ruth, Sofia, Tiana, Shanice, Amelia, Tarjae and Arissa.

On 21st October, at the Aston Primary Schools’ Boys’ League matches, St. Teresa’s School had two teams competing. The ‘yellow and black’ Year 6 team played St. Edmund’s School, losing 5-2. It was a good effort by Arjun, Kaiden, Sebastian, Balraaj, Joshua, Sukhjeevan, Deshon, Tomasz, Sam.

The ‘yellow and red’ Year 5 team played St. Patrick’s School losing 3-0. The school was well represented by Chikwere, Eesah, Arinze, Jayden, Arvin, Nikhil, Long, Kyle and Nihal.

Thank you to Mrs Murdock for helping to get the children to and from the matches and for overseeing a girls’ practice in preparation for their first match early next term.

Football Result

On Thursday 12th March, the school football team played their first match of the Aston Primary Schools’ Spring Term 7-a-side league. The team played St. Mary’s School, winning 2-1.  Well done Ruben, Sarvan, Adan, Sam, Umayer, Ethan and Sukhsimran.

 

                                                      Swimming Gala

On Saturday 7th March, the St. Teresa’s Swimming team participated in the Birmingham Catholic Primary Schools’ Swimming Gala at Wyndley Swimming Pool. The team were; Tia, Lydia, Ameria, Saron, Sarvan, Noah, Kemai and Joshua M. All swam well in a high standard competition. Well done to the team, particularly for their excellent behaviour.  Congratulations to Ameria who reached the final of the Girls’ Breaststroke. Thank you to Miss Gibbon for managing the team and to the children’s parents for their support.

 

Caritas Christi In Urbe Tag Rugby

On Monday 2nd March, a team of Year 6 children participated in the Caritas Christi In Urbe Tag Rugby festival at St. Chad’s Catholic Primary School. The children; Michael, Ruben Umayer, Rosa, Sarvan, Ella, Prince, Tea and Sam, had an enjoyable and active afternoon. Thank you to Mrs Murdock for taking the group to this event.

 

Caritas Christi In Urbe Indoor Athletics

On Friday 28th February, a team of Year 4 children represented the school at the Caritas Christi In Urbe Indoor Athletics event at Birmingham City University. The children; Ruth, Sukhjeevan, Sebastian, Tiana, Sam and Manpreet were a credit to the school. Thank you to Mrs Murdock for taking the children to this event.

 

Girls' 5-a-side Football

Yesterday evening, the Girls’ 5-a-side football team competed in the Aston Primary Schools’ Indoor tournament. The team played four games; drawing 0-0 and 1-1 and losing 1-0 and 3-0. Thank you to Miss Gibbon for her support. It was a good team effort by Nikola, Hien, Rosa, Tia, Tea, Chiaku and Uyen-Thi.

 

Boys' 5-a-side Football

On Thursday 16th January, the Boys’ 5-a-side football team competed in the Aston Primary Schools’ Indoor tournament. The team played three games; winning 2-1 and losing 2-0 and 5-0. Thank you to Miss Gibbon for her support. It was a good team effort by Ruben, Sarvan, Sam, Umayer, Ethan, Sukhsimran and O’Shae.

 

Boys' 5-side Football

The Aston Primary Schools’ Boys’ five-a-side football tournament took place on Thursday 28th November. The St. Teresa’s team played three games losing 2-1, 5-0 and 6-1. The team finished fourth in the group.  Ruben, Dezaunte, Nyle, Sukhsimran, Umayer, Ethan and Prince tried hard and were positive ambassadors for the school. Thank you also to Mrs Connell and Prince’s dad for helping transport the squad to the event.

 

Girls' 5-a-side football

On 21st November, the Girls’ 5-a-side football team competed in the Aston Primary Schools’ tournament. The team played three games losing 2-0, 6-0 and 1-0. The team finished third in the group.  Nikola, Hien, Rosa, Tia, Tea, Chiaku, Uyen-Thi and Henna tried hard and were a credit to the school. Thank you to Miss Gibbon for supporting the team. Thank you also to Mrs Connell for helping transport the squad to the event.

 

Boccia

On 18th November, a group of children represented the school at a Caritas Christi In Urbe Boccia event at St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School. Well done to James, Ethan, Balraaj, Oskar, Tarli-Monae, Shanice and Christopher. Thank you to Mrs Keogh and Miss Bennett for taking the children to this event.

 

Football result

On 6th November, the school football team played their final 7-a-side football match in their Aston Autumn School’s League. The team played St. Patrick’s School, losing 6-1. Having played all five of their league matches, the team are second in the league. It has been a good team effort by Ruben, Sarvan, Dezaunte, Adan, Sam, Umayer, Ethan, Sukhsimran, Noah and O’Shae.

On 24th October, the school football team played two football matches. The team played St. Clement’s School, losing 2-1.  The team then beat St. Vincent’s School 4-1. Well done Ruben, Sarvan, Dezaunte, Adan, Sam, Umayer, Ethan, Sukhsimran and Noah.

On 17th October, the school football team played their first matches of the season. The team played St. Chad’s School, winning 1-0.  The team then drew with St. Edmund’s School 1-1. Well done Ruben, Sarvan, Sam, Umayer, Ethan, Sukhsimran, Noah and O’Shae.

 

Sporting Results 2018- 2019

Rounders

On 17th July, Year 6 played against a staff team in a Rounders match. The staff won the match 11-9 rounders. Thank you to all staff and children who took part. Thank you especially to Mrs Dignan who had the unenviable job of umpiring and to Mrs Lamb who acted as scorer.

 

Sports Days

Thank you to Miss Gibbon, supported by the Junior staff, for organising the Junior Sports Day on 2nd July. The results of this event are; 1st – St. Matthew – 245, 2nd – St. John – 236, 3rd – St. Mark – 221, 4th – St. Luke – 217.

Thank you also to the Infant staff for organising the Infant classes Sports Day on 3rd July . Thank you to the parents and carers who were able to come to the Sports Days to provide support and thank you to the children for helping to make these events so enjoyable.

The house team results were:

1st – St. Mark – 1,123 skips.  2nd – St. Luke – 1,119 skips.  3rd – St. Matthew – 1,099 skips.   4th – St. John – 1,095 skips.

Birmingham Catholic Primary Schools’ Athletics

On 17th June, the school competed at the Birmingham Catholic Primary Schools’ Athletics event at Alexander Stadium. St. Teresa’s School was represented by; Sukhjeevan, Gianna, Lacey, Ikjap, Kinga, T’nae, Chiaku, Sam, Sukhsimran. Nikola, Uyen-Thi, Malakai, Diego, Luca, Z’kea, Aleiba and Tajah. Luca reached the final of the Year 6 Boys’ Sprint finishing sixth. Thank you to Miss Foster, Mrs Byrne and Miss Gibbon who looked after the team with me.  Thank you also to the parents who attended for their support.

 

Caritas Christi In Urbe Athletics

On Monday 10th June, the children of the Junior classes participated in an Athletics event for eight of our local Catholic primary schools that are part of the Caritas Christi In Urbe family of schools. This event took place at the Alexander Stadium and involved nearly one thousand children. Thank you to the staff and volunteers for taking the children to this event. Thank you in particular to the students from St. Paul’s Girls Catholic Secondary School and St. John Wall Catholic Secondary School who led the activities

 

Year 3 and Year 4 Girls’ 6-a-side Football Results

On 21st May, the Year 3 and Year 4 Girls’ 6-a-side football team played in the Aston Schools’ tournament. The team played three matches; drawing 1-1, losing 3-0 and winning 2-0. The team finished third in their group. The girls; Victoria, Madison, Tatyana, Ameria, Cindy, Esele and Lydia were a credit to the school.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Year 3 and Year 4 Boys’ 6-a-side football team played in the Aston Schools’ tournament. The team played four matches; winning 4-1 and 2-0 and losing 4-0 and 5-0. The team finished second in their group. The boys; Aden, Carlisle, Ikjap, Jake, Kemai, Sebastian, Tomasz and Sukhjeevan were a credit to the school. Thank you to Miss Gibbon for taking the children to this event and to the parents who supported the team.

On 14th February, the Year 3 boys’ football team played in the Aston Schools’ 6-a-side tournament at Aston Villa Academy. Well done to Sebastian, Kaiden, Deshon, Joshua, Sam, Sukhjeevan and Tomasz. The team played four matches; winning 3-2, drawing 2-2 and losing 2-1 and 3-1.

On Tuesday 12th February, Aden and Kymani were chosen to represent the school at a football event at Aston Villa Academy. Well done to both boys. Thank you to Mrs Roberts for taking the children to this event.

 

 On 7th February, the Boys’ 5-a-side football team competed in the finals of the Aston Primary Schools’ Indoor tournament. The team lost 6-0, 3-0, 1-0 and 2-1. The team were third their league. It was a good effort by Harry, Gabriel, Diego, Adam, Malakai and Luca. Thank you to Miss Gibbon and the parents for their support.

 

Girls' football

On 13th December, the Girls’ 5-a-side football team competed in the Aston Primary Schools’ Indoor tournament. The team played four games; losing 4-0, 1-0, 2-0 and 4-0. It was a good effort by Nikola, Hebron, Charlotte, Tia, Prabjot and Aliya.

 

Caritas Christi In Urbe Indoor Year 4 Athletics

On 7th December, a team of Year 4 athletes participated in the first Caritas Christi In Urbe Indoor Athletics event at Birmingham City University. The event was led by first year degree P.E. students from the university. Well done to Victoria, Amrita, Abbie, Kinga, Aden, Ryleigh and Ikjap who represented the school. Thank you to Miss Gibbon for taking the children to this event.

 

 On 6th December, the Boys’ 5-a-side football team competed in the Aston Primary Schools’ Indoor tournament. The team played four games; winning 2-0, 1-0, 3-1 and losing 3-0. The team finished second in the group so have qualified for the semi-finals in January.  It was a very good team effort by Harry, Bilal, Adam, Diego, Malakai, Gabriel and Luca.

 

On 23rd November, the football team played in the Catholic Cup; a 9-a-side competition, against St. Francis School. The game was quite close with ten minutes left but St. Francis went on to win 8 – 1. What was particularly impressive about the St. Teresa’s team is that they were a team to the end; there was no blaming each other and the team stuck together. Well done Bilal, Jay, Malakai, Prabjot, Adam, Sukhsimran, Nyle, Noah and Ethan.

 

Year 3 and Year 4 Gymnastics 

On 26th November, the Year 3 and Year 4 Gymastics team competed in the Hamstead Hall School Games event at Cherry Orchard School. The team; Ameria, Tatyana, Shanice, Tiana and Tarli-Monae were a credit to the school. Thank you to Miss Gibbon for coaching the team and taking them to this event.

 

Caritas Christi In Urbe Boccia

On 19th November, a group of children represented the school at a Caritas Christi In Urbe Boccia event at St. Francis Catholic Primary School. Well done to Aden, Nataniel, Thanh, Tarli-Monae and Kaiden. Thank you to Mrs Roberts and Miss Bennett for taking the children to this event. Thank you to St. Clare’s school for providing transport by minibus.

On 13th November, the Girls’ 5-a-side football team competed in the Aston Schools’ tournament. The team played four games losing 6-0, 3-0, 4-0 and 3-1. The team finished third in the group.  Ria, Charlotte, Prabjot, Nikola, Aliya and Hebron tried hard and were a credit to the school. Thank you to Miss Gibbon for managing the team. Thank you also to Mrs Connell for transporting the squad to the event.

 

 On 6th November, the Boys’ 5-a-side football team competed in the Aston Schools’ tournament. The team played four games losing 6-1, 4-2, 3-2 and winning 5-1. The team finished second in the group so did not qualify for the semi-finals.  It was a very good team effort by Jay, Bilal, Diego, Luca, Dhiren, Sarvan and Sukhsimran. Thank you to Miss Gibbon and the parents for their support. Thank you also to Mr Whittington of St. Clare’s School for transporting our team to and from the event.

 

Year 3 Football

On 25th October, a Year 3 boys’ football team played in the Aston Schools’ 6-a-side tournament at Aston Villa Academy. Well done to Sebastian, Kaiden, Deshon, Joshua, Sam, Arjun and Sukhjeevan. The team played six league matches; winning 2 – 0, drawing 0 – 0 and losing 0 – 3, 0 – 2, 0 – 4 and 1 - 2. In the semi-final, the team lost 5 -1.   

 

Year 4 Football

On 23rd October, a Year 4 football squad competed in the Nelson Mandela League at the Hamstead Hall School Games. Well done to Ameria, Ikjap, Tatyana, Rafael, Oliver, Aden, Lydia and Madison who were exemplary ambassadors for the school. The team lost five games; 2 – 6, 2 – 8, 3 – 5, 0 – 7, 2 – 5 but won their last game 4 – 0.  Thank you to Mrs Roberts for taking the children to this event.

 

 On 11th October, the School 7-a-side team played St. Chad’s School. The team won the match 5 - 2. Well done to Harry, Jay, Bilal, Gabriel, Malakai, Sarvan, Luca, Prabjot, Diego and Sukhsimran.

 

Girls' Football

On 9th October, the Girls’ 5-a-side football team played in the Caritas Christi In Urbe tournament at St. Paul’s Girls’ Secondary School. Teams representing St. Chad’s, St. Edmund’s, St. Patrick’s, St. Vincent’s, the Oratory and our school were competing. The team won one game; 2 – 0, drew two games; 0 – 0 and 1 – 1, and lost two games 1 – 0 and 1 – 0. The team qualified for the third and fourth place play-off losing that match 1 – 0. The team were a credit to the school. Well done Ria, Prabjot, Aliya, Tia and Nikola.

 

On 2nd October, the school football team played St. Edmund’s School, drawing 1 - 1.  The team then beat St. Patrick’s School 3 - 0. Well done Harry, Jay, Bilal, Gabriel, Malakai, Sarvan, Luca, Dhiren, Diego and Sukhsimran.

 

On 24th September, the school football team played their first matches of the season. The team played St. Vincent’s School, winning 1-0.  The team then beat St. Clement’s School 4-3. Well done Bilal, Gabriel, Malakai, Sarvan, Luca, Adan, Diego and Sukhsimran.

Sports Days

Thank you to Miss Shirley, supported by the Junior staff, for organising the Junior Sports Day on Monday 2nd July at Wood Lane fields. The results of this event are; 1st – St. Matthew – 540, 2nd – St. Mark – 410, 3rd – St. John – 370, 4th – St. Luke – 320.

Thank you also to the Infant staff for organising the Infant classes Sports Day on Wednesday 4th July. Finally, thank you to the parents and carers who were able to come to the Sports Days to provide support.

 

Birmingham Catholic Primary Schools Athletics

On Monday 18th June, the school competed at the Birmingham Catholic Primary Schools’ Athletics event at Alexander Stadium. St. Teresa’s School was represented by; Ikjap, Ryleigh, Chaiku, Sam, Sharla, Luca, Mekhi, Ben, Beneice, Clevette, Kristabella, Thinh, Naomi, Milen, Daejon and Janae. Sam reached the final of the Year 4 Boys’ Sprint finishing fifth and the boys’ relay team; Sam, Ben, Luca and Mekhi, reached the final of the Boys’ relay finishing seventh. Thank you to Miss Foster, Mrs Byrne and Miss Gravell who managed the team. Thank you also to the parents who attended for their support.

 

Caritas Christi In Urbe Athletics

on15th June, the children of the Junior classes; Years 3 to 6, participated in an Athletics event for seven of our local Catholic primary schools that are part of the Caritas Christi In Urbe family of schools. This event took place at the Alexander Stadium.

 

Netball

On Thursday 7th June, a Year 5/Year 6 Netball team competed in the Hamstead Hall School Games event at Hamstead Hall Academy. Shaina, Clevette, Beneice, Sarjan, Ria, Diego, Charlotte and Teneve represented the school. The team won two games and lost seven. Thank you to Miss Foster for taking the children to this event.

 

Tennis

On Thursday 24th May, two Year 6 Tennis teams competed in the Hamstead Hall School Games event at Hamstead Hall Academy. Jagdeep, Kristabella, Clevette, Janae, Mekhi, Thinh, Kallum and Dinari represented the school. Thank you to Miss Foster for taking the children to this event.

 

Basketball

On Tuesday 22nd May, two basketball teams from Year 6 competed in the Caritas Christi In Urbe Basketball tournament at St. John Wall Catholic Secondary School. Chad, Dinari, Beneice, Milen and Clevette were Team A. Aaron, Kristabella, Aryan, Shiloh and Daejon were Team B . Well done to the Team A who won their group. The children represented the school very well. Thank you to Miss Foster for training the children and taking them to this event.

 

Boccia

On Monday 21st May, a group of children represented the school at a Caritas Christi In Urbe Boccia event at St. Francis Catholic Primary School. The team competed very well finishing second in the tournament. Well done to Aden, Kacper, Thanh, Shaivi, Hassan and William. Thank you to Miss Siddique for taking the children to this event.

Football Results

On 17th May, the Year 4 Girls’ 6-a-side football team played in the Aston Schools’ tournament. The team played four matches; losing 3-0, 1-0, 2-1 and 5-0. The team finished third in their group. The girls; Nikola, Tia, Uyen-Thi, Chiaku, Rosa, Amiya, Tea and Henna were a credit to the school. Thank you to the parents who supported the team.

 

On 10th May, the Year 3 and 4 Boys’ 6-a-side football team played in the Aston Schools’ tournament. The team played four matches; winning 2-1 and 2-1 and losing 3-1 and 3-0. The team finished second in their group. The boys were a credit to the school. Well done to Ethan, Noah, Mechach, Sam, Sarvan, Sukhsimran, O’Shea and Adan. Thank you to Miss Gibbon and the parents who supported the team.

 

Cross Country Running

On Tuesday 8th May, a team of boys and girls participated to the Birmingham Catholic Primary Schools’ Cross Country event at the Priory School, Edgbaston. The St. Teresa’s teams put in a good performance. In the boys’ race Ryleigh, Aaron, Malakai and Gabriel competed. The girls’ race followed with Beneice, Eva, Prabjot, Kristabella, Alicja and Janae representing the school.

 

On 27th March, the Year 5 Girls’ 6-a-side football team competed in the Aston Primary Schools’ tournament. The team played four group matches; winning 2-1 and losing 2-1, 4-0 and 1-0 thereby finishing third in the group. It was a good effort by Nikola, Ruqqaya, Hebron, Tia, Prabjot, Teneve, Aliya and Sharla. Thank you to Miss Foster for managing the team.

 

Swimming Gala

On Saturday 24th March, the St. Teresa’s Swimming team participated in the Birmingham Catholic Schools’ Swimming Gala at Wyndley Swimming Pool. The team were; Harry, Thinh, Noah, Shiloh, Tajah, Prabjot and Ameria. All swam well in a high standard competition. Well done to the team, particularly for their excellent behaviour. Thank you to Miss Goupilliere for managing the team and to the children’s parents for their support.

 

On 22nd March, the Year 5 Boys’ 6-a-side football team competed in the Aston Primary Schools’ tournament. The team played three group matches; losing 5-0, 1-0 and 4-1 thereby finishing fourth in the group. It was a good effort by Harry, Bilal, Dhiren, Jay, Gabriel, Diego, Malakai and Sarjan. Thank you to Miss Gibbon for taking the children to this event.

 

On 14th March, Mr Donaghy led the Junior children in completing a bleep test which is a running activity designed to measure an of fitness. The results are:

 Year 4: 1st Sam, 2nd Sukhsimran, 3rd Sarvan

Year 5: 1st Luca, =2nd Gabriel and Malakai

On Tuesday 6th February, the Boys’ 5-a-side football team competed in the finals of the Aston Primary Schools’ Indoor tournament. The team won 2-1 and lost 4-0 and 2-0. The team were joint third their league. Well done Thinh, Chad, Aaron, Ben and Diego.

 

On Tuesday 23rd January, the Girls’ 5-a-side football team competed in the Aston Primary Schools’ Indoor tournament. The team lost their matches 2-0, 1-0 and 4-0 and were fourth in their league. The attitude and effort from Prabjot, Hebron, Esemme, Honey, Ruqqaya, Sharla and Tia were a credit to the school.

 

On Tuesday 16th December, the Boys’ 5-a-side football team competed in the Aston Primary Schools’ Indoor tournament. The team only had four players but fortunately the teams in the league agreed to play 4-side matches against St. Teresa’s. The team won two matches; 5-0 and 3-0 and drew two matches 1-1 and 1-1. The team won their league and will compete in the finals on 6th February. Well done to Well done Thinh, Chad, Aaron and Mekhi.

 

Caritas Christi In Urbe Cross Country event

On Friday 1st December, a Girls’ team and a Boys’ team competed in the first Caritas Christi In Urbe cross country running event at Wood Lane playing fields. Six schools competed; St. Edmund’s, St. Clare’s, St. Francis’, St. Patrick’s, St. Vincent’s and St. Teresa’s. The event was marshalled by students from St. Paul’s Girls’ Catholic Secondary School and a group of our Year 5 children.

The girls competing were; Beneice, Naomi, Eva, Alicja and Prabjot. The boys competing were; Kallum, Luca, Aaron, Mekhi and Harry. The Girls’ team finished second in their event, with Beneice as the overall Girls’ winner. The Boys’ team also finished second in their event. The team were third overall. Thank you to Mr Donaghy for organising this event on behalf of the Caritas Christi In Urbe schools and to Mrs Higgins for assisting on the day.

 

On Thursday 30th November, the Boys’ 5-a-side football team competed in the Aston Schools’ tournament. The team played four games winning 2-1 and 3-2 and losing 3-0 and 5-0. The team finished second in the group so did not qualify for the semi-finals. It was a very good team effort by Thinh, Ben, Chad, Mekhi, Aaron and Kallum.

 

On Monday 20th November, we played a new and exciting game called...BOCCIA! William (Year 6) Hassan, Gerrard (Year 5) and Thanh, Kacper, Aden (Year 3) were invited to St. Francis school to take part in the Boccia tournament.

Boccia is where you have a Jack ball (target ball) in which you have to aim your team's ball as close to the target as possible. It takes great concentration, accuracy and precision.

We are very pleased to say that St. Teresa's came second place out of 7 schools competing.

Well done boys, you were a credit to the school!

On Monday 9th October, the school football team played two matches. The team played St. Edmund’s School, winning 2 - 0. The team also beat St. Patrick’s School 4 - 0. Well done Thinh, Aaron, Daejon, Malakai, Chad, Luca, Diego and Ben.

The team have finished second of the six teams competing in the Aston Small Schools’ Autumn League with four wins and one defeat in their five matches.

 

On Thursday 28th September the school football team played their first matches of the season. The team played St. Chad’s School, winning 3-1. The team beat St. Clement’s School 2 – 0 and lost 4-0 to St. Vincent’s School. Well done Thinh, Aaron, Daejon, Malakai, Bilal, Luca, Diego, Kallum, Ben and Mekhi.

Sporting Results 2016-2017

On Wednesday 28th September, the school football team played their first match of the season. The team played St. Chad’s School, losing 3-1. It was a good effort by Tomasz, Eryk, Taran, Varun, Aaron, Daejon, Trevaughn and Mekhi.

On Monday 10th October, the football team played three matches. The team lost 4-0 to St. Edmund’s School, then played St. Patrick’s School winning 4-1 and then beat Holy Trinity School 3-1. Tomasz, Eryk, Taran, Balvin, Aaron, R’keil, Trevaughn and Mekhi were a credit as footballers, and more importantly as ambassadors, for the school.

On Monday  14th November, the football team played St Patrick’s School in the first round of the Catholic Cup. The team played very well winning 3-1. Well done Liam, Taran, Varun, Eryk, Trevaughn, Balvin, Jadon, Tomasz, Mekhi, Kallum and Aaron.

On Tuesday 15th November, the Boys’ 5-a-side team competed in the Aston Schools’ tournament. The team played five games, winning 3-2 and 3-0, drawing 0-0 and 2-2 and losing 3-2.

On Thursday19th November, the Girls’ 5-a-side team competed in the Aston Schools’ tournament. They drew their first game 1-1 against Barford School. The second game saw St. Teresa's triumph against Chilwell Croft Academy. In the final game St. Teresa's beat Sacred Heart 3-1The team played three games drawing 1-1 and winning 2-1 and 3-1 to finish undefeated in the group. We just missed out on qualifying for the semi-finals on goal difference. The team was managed by Miss Foster and her inspirational team talks led to the team remaining undefeated for the tournament. The behaviour was excellent and the girls' team spirit and play was superb. Well done Faith, Courtney, Laana, Elicia, Francine, Tanisha, Trinity and Eva. Thank you to Miss Foster and Mr Donaghy for managing the team.

On Thursday 1st October the school football team played their first matches of the season. The team played St. Vincent’s School, losing 1-0 and St. Clement’s School, winning 3-0. Well done to Gurdeep, Tomasz, Humraj, Eryk, Aman, Darrell, Joshua, Dylan, Karanveer and Varun who represented the school.

Year 3 and Year 4 Football

On Wednesday 21st October, a Year 3 team and a Year 4 football team represented the school at the Handsworth School Games Football tournament at Hamstead Hall Academy.

The Year 3 team played ten games; winning 5-3 and 3-1 and losing 7-2, 4-2, 7-3, 5-1, 3-1, 2-0, 9-0 and 7-0. It was a good effort by Ria, Ruqqaya, Hasan, Luca, Teneve, Hebron, Bilal and Jay to finish eighth in the tournament.

The Year 4 team played ten matches, winning all of them: 6-2, 3-1, 3-0, 5-1, 4-2, 5-2, 4-1, 4-2, 7-2 and 5-1. Well done to Shaina, Jovan, Shiloh, Beneice, Mekhi, Daejon, Jovan and Aryan who won the tournament and have qualified for the City Wide Games in February.

On Thursday 8th October, the school football team played two matches. The team played St. Chad’s School, losing 6-0 and St. Clement’s School, winning 3-2. It was a good effort by Gurdeep, Tomasz, Humraj, Aman, Darrell, Joshua, Dylan, Karanveer and Varun.

On Wednesday 14th October, the school football team played in the Aston Schools’ League against St. Edmund’s School, winning 3-2. It was a super effort by Tomasz, Gurdeep, Eryk, Humraj, Aman, Darrell, Joshua, Dylan, Karanveer and Varun.

Netball Tournament

On Thursday 22nd October, the Netball Team competed in the Caritas Christi In Urbe tournament. The team played four matches; winning 2-1, 1-0 and 4-0 and losing 1-0. St. Teresa’s won the tournament. Well done to Rajeka, Neha, Courtney, Faith, Sienna, Khia, Nevaeh and Leia.
