Easter "Eggstravaganza"
On Wednesday 27th March, we had an "eggciting" afternoon looking at the Easter bonnets and the "Eggtastic" Egg Displays. Well done to all those children who made a display, they were "Eggcellent"
CADBURY WORLD
On Tuesday 12th March, Year 4 went on a visit to Cadbury World, linked to our Literacy book "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and also our Science Topic "States of Matter". The children got to learn about the History of Cadbury's, saw how chocolate is made, they got to write in chocolate and also taste the chocolate. Mmmmmmmm! In the afternoon we went into the 4d Cinema, which was great as the chairs moved as we watched the film based on Cadbury's chocolate and its characters.
Class Assembly - Lunar New Year
RE
Our unit in RE this half term has been "Sharing in the life of Christ: The Church as a Community". As part of this we looked at how the word of God could be spread around the world. We discussed how the disciples gained the ability to talk in tongues after they received the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. We learnt how to sign "Hail Mary" as a class. A number of children in the school are able to speak a number of languages; Dominik - The Lord's Prayer in Polish, Mrs Gillam and Anthony - Hail Mary in Vietnamese, Matthew and Sophia - The Lord's Prayer in Vietnamese, and Mrs Chowdhury - The Lord's Prayer in Bengali.
MUSIC
In year 4 we learn a musical instrument provided by Music Services. Last term we learnt the fife and we have now progressed to the curved flute. The class are doing brilliantly and have “blown the socks off” myself and Mrs Lord. I hope to show our progress over the coming weeks and months.

CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
PARENTS BRIEFING
Over Night Experience
On Friday 22nd September, 9 children from Year 4, took part in the Over Night Experience. The children considered the theme of "The Dignity of the Human Person". An aspect of this is an appreciation, understanding and empathy for those that are, for whatever reason, homeless.
MacMillan Coffee Morning
On the morning of Friday 29th September, we took part in the MacMillan Coffee Morning. We ball came dressed in non-uniform with, where possible, an item of green to represent MacMillan. We all enjoyed a cake and a drink of squash in the hall.
Odd Socks for Anti-Bullying Week
What's Odd Socks Day all about?
People are being encouraged to wear their favourite odd socks (yes, this means picking out a pair that don't match!).
It's to symbolise that we are all different and that children should be themselves, accepting of one another and celebrate difference.
